First Encounter with Operation Theater

It was a normal Thursday evening when I was returning from office to my home. On the way, I thought of doing some grocery shopping, so I went to Trinethra and bought some items. All was fine till I took a turn from the Apollo towards Road No.12, Banjara Hills.

I was trying to take a turn and suddenly a vehicle hit me from right side. I didn’t realize that I have severely hurt my leg and left for my home. By the time I reached home, I was feeling very dizzy and my leg was bleeding a lot. I called my friend Deobrat (my room-mate) to rush home immediately. But it was getting worse as the time was progressing. He was in office and as it took a while for him to reach home, so he informed my landlord. Then it was my landlord who took me to the Apollo Hospital (Near to the same place where I had my accident:)). I was waiting for the doctor and meanwhile Deobrat also reached the emergency ward.

After doing normal dressing they took me for the X-Ray in a wheel chair. I never sat in a wheel chair. On one end, I was worried about my fracture and on the other end I was laughing on being seated in the wheel chair:). Finally I had my life’s first X-Ray done. Thankfully, it was just a wound and there was no fracture.

The doctor did the dressing again and advised me not to walk for few days. I was very scared when he told me to visit a plastic surgeon next day for the actual diagnosis. We reached home and I slept waiting for the next day to come.

Next morning, I went to Apollo again to meet the plastic surgeon. The doctor saw the wound and advised me to go for suturing. After thinking a lot, I decided to go for that. He advised to go for a screening test before the operation. I am scared of blood tests but it went fine. Then attendant took me outside the operation theater.

I never had any operation done in my life. I was sitting on the wheel chair and was very scared. Attendant told me to remove all the metal items and gave me a dress for the operation. Then he took me through multiple doors and doctor told the attendant to take me to OT Number 3. After few minutes I was in the operation theater.

He put a bed-sheet on the table and told me to lie down there. I was seeing the different instruments, lights and wondering what is going to happen now. The doctor came after sometime and gave me a local anesthesia. It was paining like hell. They put different sort of instruments around my body and there was a monitor which was showing some readings of my body.

After a while, the main doctor came and started cleaning my leg. He was asking lot of questions about my past medical history. He was doing some things on my leg using some very pointed instruments. He did a very long dressing till my knee. It took almost 45 minutes to complete the whole surgery. At the end, he told me I have done the plastic surgery and we need to put you under observation for half hour.

I was shifted to the recovery room and again they put some instruments. There was a monitor above my head and it was showing lots of graphs, readings, etc. After sometime my friend came over and he was very happy to see me. I was waiting and waiting and waiting for the time to pass by so that I can go home. Finally nurse gave me a clean chit and I was discharged from the hospital.

This was the outcome after the 7 hours stay in Apollo:(

It was a bad day in my life when I saw the operation theater. I just wish I don’t have to visit the same place again.

A different weekend in my life

I always wanted to write blogpost , but was always lazy to write a post or I can say that I was not getting anything to pen down. Last weekend was a very different weekend in my life. So let me start writing this here.
I was in Mumbai at my friend's place to attend his engagement. We (me and my friend) started last Friday from Hyderabad amidst the heavy rainfall. It was very difficult to reach the boarding point as we were damn struck in the great Hyderabad traffic. Somehow the bus was also late and we managed to board the bus:)

It was a great day when I reached in Mumbai after the tiring journey. I met his family, his fiancĂ©e. I was also seeing Mumbaikars , the life they live there;oh my God, it is damn fast man... Its so difficult to travel in trains. But fortunately I was lucky that it was weekend and trains were not crowded as they are on weekdays and we managed in the slow local train to reach his home.

Till the evening, everything was good and I was shopping but then I just called my friend in Hyderabad. He told me there were two blasts in Hyderabad. I was very sad to know about this. I rang my near and dear friends. Thanks God everybody was fine. I reached home and switched on the TV and as expected all news channels were showing the news. It was very sad to see the pictures. I was feeling very bad. Why the humans are killing each other? Why the terrorists are targeting different cities. There were 2 blasts and that too in the vicinity of 7-8 Kms of my house in Hyderabad. I was lucky that I was not in the city. I am quite sure that if I would have been there in the city, I would be roaming around those places. I hope the government /security agencies should find these terrorists and they should be killed/hang. I received lots of calls from my friends/relatives to enquire about me and they were all happy that I am fine. After all this happenings, I slept finally.

The next day was good fun as it was the D day(engagement) for my friend. I had good fun doing all kind of masti, teasing him big time. I had a very good time in the ceremony. In the evening, I had to rush to meet my cousin but his house was far. I took a local train but it was all different this time. The train was very crowded even though it was Sunday. Somehow I managed to save my life and reached my cousin’s place. It took me 2 hours to reach his place. But finally I met my cousin, bhabhi and their 3 months kid. It was great feeling to meet them after 3 years. We chat a lot that day and then I slept off as I had to take a flight early in the morning . Next day morning, I came back to Hyderabad.

It was a very different weekend in my life when I was sad as well as happy in just couple of days. Life is damn tough sometimes but in the end, one has to enjoy and live life king size.
